Day 1 – Part 1
Introduction to the Tapping Experience. Nick Ortner takes you through an exercise to help you determine what you want to work on and where you what results you want to get from The Tapping Experience. Carol Look then goes through the history of Meridian Tapping and how it was discovered.

Day 1 – Part 2
In the second segment, Carol Look, Tapping and EFT Expert, explains rapport and listening, what problems are really about, measuring the physical affect of EFT and the intention to heal. She discusses hypnosis, how to deal with resistance, lack of follow through, the sore spot, properly naming problems, talking in your own voice, and using your own energy. This video also address understanding what we want, psychological parts, writing out our favorite accepting statements, choosing a target, working on multiple problems, aspects of problems, head tapping, finger points, favorite points, subtle tapping, public tapping, visualization, being specific, and tapping with trauma.

Day 1 – Part 3
In part three, Carol Look moves into testing your work, success, disruptions in the energy field, the generalization effect, different ways to measure, and the anxiety scale. She leads attendees through the first wave of actual tapping, and answers questions about rules, OCD, skipping certain points, and the importance is verbalization. One of the first volunteers she works with is a personal development coach carrying fears dating back to her childhood.

Day 1 – Part 4
Carol explores brain exercises, trauma, telling the story, and the freeze response in this section. She addresses safety triggers, alarms, trauma compartmentalization, and invites audience members on stage to tell their stories, as well as addressing multiple issues at once. We see a volunteer tap on letting her mother die naturally, against the advice of her uncle and daughter.

Day 1 – Part 5
This segment looks at guilt, responsibility, judgement, the movie version technique, finding the crescendo, and telling certain pieces of the story. We continue to view shutting down, disassociation, slowing down, recalling the scenes, and follow a woman who had difficulties during child birth. After Carol answers a number of questions about learning tapping, teaching it, and technique.

Day 1 – Part 6
Carol Look works with participants on the issue of physical pain. A number of participants come up on stage to work on issues such as back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and headaches. This is the first part of this on stage interaction where Carol gets the background on the pain (continues in the next video)

Carol Look continues working with participants on stage for physical pain.

Day 1 – Part 8
Carol look continues working with participants on stage for physical pain and finishes the session. Then there is a question and answer period about what Carol did with the people on stage.

Day 1 – Part 9
Carol goes into deeper detail on how addictions, especially food addictions, work. She brings another group of people on stage to deal with food cravings.

Day 1 – Part 10
Carol continues working with a group on stage about food cravings and continues talking about addictions.

Day 1 – Part 11
Carol finished working with the group on stage about food cravings, summarizes some of the day and then closes for the day.

Day 2 – Part 1
Nick opens up day 2 and discusses the fire alarm from the night before that went off in the hotel and triggered many people with traumas. People come up on stage to share the powerful results they had from the day 1 tapping. Carol then comes up on stage to start the Tapping for the day. She asks if people have questions about techniques from Day 1. She then goes into discussing what they will work on during Day 2.

Day 2 – Part 2
Carol begins working with people on stage again talking about how people were triggered by last night’s fire alarm. Lora talks about her trauma with the fire and her memories of September 11th. Then Shana discusses her traumatic event with having her house burn down about a year earlier (tell the story technique) and having to go back into the house to get two of her children out.

Day 2 – Part 3
Carol continues working with Shana and Lora on their fire traumas. At the end of the session she opens up to questions and taps with a few more people on stage.

Day 2 – Part 4
Carol does some additional tapping with the participants about the difficult tapping session on the fire traumas. She then talks about limiting beliefs for a few minutes and then goes on to starting a public speaking demonstration. She taps with the participants and explains the different causes of this fear and how to tap for it.

Day 2 – Part 5
Carol brings a participant up on stage and does tapping with her on her fear of being on stage for about 15 minutes. Then she brings another person on stage (Suzette) and taps with her on stage about her fear of public speaking caused by a specific traumatic event of her brother criticizing her as a child.

Day 2 – Part 6
Katherine comes up on stage to talk about her fear of public speaking and her speech impediment that is related to it. She then goes on to tap about the issue of anxiety and taps on stage with Marie.

Day 2 – Part 7
Carol begins this session with discussing what they will work on which is sabotage. She explains the causes that lead us to sabotage ourselves and how to break down these causes and use Tapping to eliminate the self sabotage. (Tapping for financial success is a big part of this discussion).

Day 2 – Part 8
Carol brings people on stage to tap with them on their barriers to being more successful. She explains how to find the underlying beliefs and self sabotaging patterns that hold people back from getting the success that they want.

Day 2 – Part 9
Carol continues and finished the session on tapping for success with participants on stage.

Day 2 – Part 10
Carol discusses that she’ll be working on guilt during this session. She brings up several people on stage who discuss things that they feel guilty about. Some of these issues are guilt over not being there for children, guilt over feeling like a parents death was their fault and guilt about hurting another person with words in a particular incident.

Day 2 – Part 11
Carol finishes the session with the participants on stage for issues of guilt and has people from the audience ask questions on why she did what she did during the session.

Day 2 – Part 12
Carol takes additional questions from participants about both the session she just did and other questions from throughout the day.

Day 3 – Part 1
Nick begins the morning talking about some of his basic nutritional beliefs and who is goes to and listens to when it comes to nutrition. He then continues goes on to get some shares from the participants about their experience overnight from the Tapping the day before.

Day 3 – Part 2
In this segment Carol Look talks about chasing the pain, tearless trauma, insomnia, and goes through the physical pain booklet. Issues include losing pigments, auto-immune disorders, finding the target, along with a woman who can’t find her target. Another volunteer comes to the stage with a thyroid problem, with links to her husband who cheated on her, and had a child with another woman. Yet another participant makes headway with sariases, linking it to her grief.

Day 3 – Part 3
Audience members come with problems ranging from chilgrens, dry eyes, group tapping, to a woman who can’t run anymore. The group explores getting rid of stress, replacing a family member, and listens to a daughter’s grief about her mother dying. Then the woman who’s husband cheated on her finds a startling connection between her thyroid, her husband, and her views of happiness taken from her culture.

Day 3 – Part 4
The sections shows progress as a woman with former leg problems runs onto stage, Carol talks about excitement, and helps a participant who’s husband died in an accident. The section looks at remembering memories people block out and why, as well as falling asleep while tapping, and how it can be the body shutting down emotionally. They discuss tapping before finding a target, testing someone, checking out, and the decisions we all make under 15.

Day 3 – Part 5
In this part, the group sees rage and anger, a woman with hives for nine years after an accident, anger at self for not solving problems, self-sabotaging, and ugliness. One volunteer talks about sexual abuse from when she was little. She was angry at herself because she was keeping in the anger she had stored for other people, for the things that had happened to her growing up.

Day 3 – Part 6
Here, some people admit to feeling their problems aren’t great enough to require attention. Carol explains how rage is often used to keep grief at bay, how to thank your body, thank your symptom, protection, and the inner conflict about letting go.

Day 3 – Part 7
This segment addresses insomnia, writing things down, what organs are associated with what emotions, and resistance. Carol talks about the law of attraction and tapping, being stuck, negative conversations, and gratitude lists.

Day 3 – Part 8
As the day progresses, this segment explores making affirmations that are too big, holding on to grudges, more about the law of attraction with EFT, self care, and the burn out syndrome. Long sessions, daily tapping, weekly tapping, bridging, being stuck, and hypnosis training are tackled, and the group tries starting on the syndrome. One man, who has tooth ache pain that goes through his whole body, releases after 26 years, sweating on stage when before he couldn’t.

Day 3 – Part 9
Carol Look works with a hypnotist who had betrayal issues against his hypnotism mentor, and deals with using someone as an excuse to not move forward. She talks about self-punishment, getting rid of clutter, and the fear of an empty life. One woman taps about not talking to her daughter in 2 years, a man fights being a people pleaser, and another woman reconciles being an outcast from her eight siblings.

Day 3 – Part 10
In this final piece, a survivor of 9/11 releases her fears and triggers from that day. Carol finishes by thanking the universe with the crowd, and the crew thanks everyone involved in the event.

A Lonely Genius’s Quest

Nietzsche’s body of work has been enormously influential, but it consists of a hodgepodge of reflections, accusations, bits of psychoanalysis, church and secular history, advice to the lovelorn, moral reminders, and some forgeries created by Nietzsche’s nefarious sister.

To provide shape to Nietzsche’s thought, each lecture focuses on specific ideas that preoccupied Nietzsche while tracing the profound themes that give meaning to his work.

Lectures 1 through 3 provide a context within which we can better understand Nietzsche’s life and work. These are essential and foundational introductions to him. Professors Solomon and Higgins:

Debunk the myths, rumors, and misunderstandings surrounding Nietzsche. (They show, for example, that he was not insane, misogynistic, power-mad, anti-Semitic, or amoral.)
Connect his thought to that of his predecessors Socrates, Plato, Jesus, and Schopenhauer and that of his near-contemporaries Kierkegaard, Dostoyevsky, Marx, and Freud.
Investigate how Nietzsche’s method of explaining human beliefs and practices in terms of personality and character (as opposed to justifying them through reason) enabled him to refute Socratic assumptions, English utilitarianism, Christian compassion, and Schopenhauer’s pessimism.

The Death of God and The Birth of Tragedy

Lectures 4 through 8 explore Nietzsche’s subtle and complex critique of both religious belief and Greek rationalism.

What did Nietzsche mean when he declared “God is dead”? We see that Nietzsche did not seek to condemn true spirituality but to question the mindset that insists on eternity, that is obsessed with unity and coherence, and that demands predictability and justice in a world that is neither predictable or just.
We examine Nietzsche’s near-worship of pre-Socratic Greek culture and his championing of instinct, passion, and aestheticism.
We study Nietzsche’s first work, The Birth of Tragedy (1872), famous for its brilliant analysis of the creative tension between the cults of rational Apollo and ecstatic Dionysus in pre-Socratic Greece.
We see how Nietzsche contrasts tragedy, which accepts suffering and makes something beautiful out of it, with Platonic, Socratic, and Christian thought, which he accuses of trying to deny the meaning of suffering by invoking a superior, otherworldly life.

Lectures 9 through 11 focus on Nietzsche’s famous style, which deftly combines the majesty of the prophet, the force of the Homeric warrior, and the lyricism of the poet, but which nonetheless is rife with fallacies, inconsistencies, exaggerations, and scathing personal attacks.
Harsh but Insightful Criticisms

In lectures 12 through 15, Professor Solomon takes a closer look at Nietzsche’s harsh but insightful criticisms of the intellectual currents of his time-Christian moralism, evolution, socialism, democracy, and nationalism. Here we meet Nietzsche the “moral psychologist,” who revolutionized our understanding of the “human, all too human” motives that underlie our beliefs.

Is Nietzsche correct that “every philosophy is a personal confession and an unconscious memoir”?
Are pity and laughter just forms of dominance and power?
How much of morality is, in fact, a scheme to bring down one’s superiors through guilt? How do repression, religion, and rationalization assist in this scheme?
How does Nietzsche criticize previous ideals of love?
Is Nietzsche a powerful anti-nihilist? Is he correct in rejecting the utilitarian’s moral guideline “the greatest good for the greatest number” as a nihilistic rejection of life? (He says: “Man does not live for pleasure; only the Englishman does.”)
How does Nietzsche’s “morality of virtue” contrast with Judeo-Christian morality? And how does he argue that 2,000 years of Christianity enriches and spiritualizes “healthy” morality?

In Lectures 16 through 20, Professor Solomon pulls back and attempts to summarize Nietzsche’s preoccupations. In a nod (and a wink) to our times, he compiles “top-ten lists” of both Nietzsche’s favorites and his favorite targets. You will be intrigued to see who makes both lists! Also in this section, we encounter Nietzsche the historicist and Nietzsche the “immoralist,” and discover the source of his vitriolic personal attacks.
